I’d like to welcome you, and explain just how NotTied came to life.
Where do I start? …just begin.
For a long time I knew I had a purpose, as we all do in this world. It would take time for that to be revealed, but I always envisioned myself building a company where myself and others who believed in the same vision could have a positive impact on people’s lives.
Many times that birth of an idea comes from a hardship or personal life changing event. Usher in 2014 and I found myself going through a divorce that made me ask these questions; “Who am I?”, “What is my purpose?”, and “Will I be okay?”
Of course, like many of us, we want to be with people who can understand what we are experiencing. During this time, I made a trip to visit a friend who had also recently experienced a divorce.
We talked for hours about where we each were in life, and the road ahead. That morning upon waking and getting ready for the day, I went in search of a washcloth. Finding this washcloth seemed to be eluding me and I came up empty handed. It wasn’t until my drive home the following day that I had an “A-HA!” moment: divorced people need stuff!
Stuff like washcloths, dishes, and just everyday simple life necessities. As I started to think about that concept I realized people going through their divorce journey and beyond need a community. They need a place to go for questions on finance, legal, co-parenting topics and much more.
They need help building Their New Normal…Life After Divorce.
Welcome to NotTied, a place that is Your Divorce Community. We are bringing you some of the best tools to get you started on your new journey, with everything from legal, finances, co-parenting, spiritual, and more for you to share your story with people who are, or have been, where you are now.
Our goal with NotTied is to change the perception of divorce from negative to embracing a new journey and be open to self-discovery. Let me be clear, that we are not promoting divorce, and we truly hope that couples take the necessary steps to exhaust all opportunities before making that decision.
However, if you decide to make that choice, than NotTied is your online source to help you find your way in a positive, safe, non-judgmental, and healthy environment.
